Which YVR transportation option fits your trip?

No single option is best for everyone. A light traveller near a rail station has a different journey from a family with several cases, a stroller and a destination beyond the transit line.
Canada Line fares: use the current AddFare
TransLink states that the YVR Airport AddFare increased to $6.50 CAD on July 1, 2026. It applies to specified journeys beginning at YVR-Airport, Sea Island Centre or Templeton and travelling toward Bridgeport or beyond, with exemptions for certain tickets and passes. There is no YVR Airport AddFare when travelling to the airport.

Compare private-vehicle prices for the actual party with the total cost of alternative tickets or vehicles. A per-person comparison is meaningful only after confirming that all passengers and their bags fit in one booked vehicle.
What changes the practical choice?
Several bags or ski equipment
Tell a private operator the exact load. For transit, assess transfers, lifts and the walk from the station.
A child or mobility requirement
Ask the provider to confirm the needed accommodation and vehicle suitability. Do not assume it from the category name.
A late or disrupted arrival
Check the operating schedule and pickup process for the option you choose. Keep the provider informed if processing or baggage is delayed.

Book around the arrival, not just the landing time
Have the airline, flight number, destination address, passenger count and baggage list ready. International arrival processing and baggage collection happen before a passenger can reach the pickup point. A confirmed meeting plan should explain whom to contact when the party is ready.

Is the $6.50 Canada Line AddFare the whole fare?
No. It is an additional charge on applicable airport-origin journeys. The regular transit fare is separate, and exemptions depend on the fare product and journey.
